Rescue 3 Europe - Safe Working Near Water (SWNW)

Minimum age: 18.

Must be a confident swimmer.

• Warm clothes (including a spare set to change in to)

Description of Activity

At Tirio we take your safety seriously and, whilst we don’t want to cause you unnecessary concern, we do feel it is important that we make you aware of the inherent risks associated with these activities. Water Based Rescue and other Water Based Activities are “Assumed Risk” – “Water Contact Activities” that may carry attendant risks, including personal injury, damage to personal property and death. Open water, the sea and rivers can be hazardous. The water can be deep, cold with the prospect of long swims in cold and / or moving water. Other hazards may be present such as rocks, trees, hidden underwater hazards, other water users, water hazards and debris. You may be required to paddle Your will be required to operate on and swim in cold water for several hours each day; this may be in bad weather. You will be required to swim in fast flowing white water where impacts with the riverbed, bank and rocks are likely.

Hiking and Rugged Terrain - Reaching the water and hiking may require walking on uneven rugged ground. Hazards include steep or slippery ground and bad weather. You may be required to walk for several hours each day. The nature of the terrain may also lead to damage to personal property.

All Activities delivered by Tirio take place in areas that are not without inherent risk. We will do everything reasonably practicable to minimize risks to Participants. All risk cannot be removed entirely from the Activity; therefore Participant(s) agree to accept the responsibility for the actions and the involvement of themselves. We may, at times, identify certain risks to Participants and instruct upon the safest way to proceed. All Participants should follow Tirio staff instructions when given.
