Pass forgotten docks that give clues to the area's industrial past along the way and meet an abundance of wildlife as river becomes stunning estuary. Overnight Wild Camp Journey

Day 1:

We will meet bright and early in Porthmadog, where our journey starts and ends. Hopping on to the local bus to Maentwrog, from here we'll begin our paddle down the Afon Dwyryd to the Celtic Rainforest.  Ascend through the 10000 year old forest - one of the last remaining temperate rainforests in the UK. On the way you'll pass by the thunderous Rhaeadr Du (the Black Falls) waterfall and ultimately emerge in a lush secluded valley where we will have ample time to set up our camp and relax before retiring.

Day 2:

After breakfast - don't forget the coffee! - we will break camp and descend through the rainforest back to the Afon Dwyryd River where we will inflate our rafts and continue our journey all the way to the Coast. You'll experience the gradual changes in the river and scenery as the Dwyryd grows and opens into estuary and finally catch the tidal flows to take us to our journey's end at Borth-y-Gest. From here its a short walk along leafy lanes back to our starting point in Porthmadog.
